Solar And Battery Storage Made Simple

Solar photovoltaic panels convert daylight into electricity for your home. The power generated can run appliances as it is produced, reducing the amount of electricity you need to buy from the grid.

Adding battery storage allows surplus solar energy to be saved for evenings, cloudy periods or times when electricity prices are higher. EazyHeat will recommend a balanced system based on available roof space, shading, household consumption and your budget.

Why Get Solar Panels And Battery Storage?

A well-designed solar system can reduce electricity bills by replacing part of the energy you would otherwise import from your supplier. A battery can increase the amount of solar power used inside the home by storing excess generation rather than exporting it immediately.

Solar can also protect your household from some future energy-price increases and support high-electricity technologies such as EV chargers and heat pumps. Smart monitoring lets you see generation, consumption and battery charge levels, helping you make better use of the energy your system produces.

Solar Incentives And Export Payments

Qualifying residential solar panel and battery installations currently benefit from 0% VAT until 31 March 2027. Homes with an eligible export meter can also apply for a Smart Export Guarantee tariff, allowing participating electricity suppliers to pay for surplus renewable electricity sent to the grid.

Some low-income households in England may qualify for fully funded improvements through the Warm Homes: Local Grant. Eligible privately owned homes generally need an EPC rating of D to G, and the measures offered depend on the property survey, local authority funding and household circumstances.

Is My Home Suitable For Solar Panels?

Many UK homes can benefit from solar, particularly where the roof is structurally sound and receives good daylight without heavy shading from trees or nearby buildings. South-facing roofs often generate the most electricity, but east- and west-facing roofs can also perform well by spreading generation across the day.

Your survey will consider roof orientation, pitch, usable area, shading, electrical equipment and annual consumption. Battery size should reflect how much surplus energy you are likely to produce and when your household uses power, rather than simply choosing the largest unit available.

Flexible ways to pay

Choose from a range of convenient payment options, including flexible finance plans or paying for your installation in full.

Flexible Monthly Repayments

Representative APR 11.9% (fixed)

Spread the cost of your installation over a longer repayment term with manageable monthly payments.

As long as your scheduled monthly payments are maintained, you can make additional payments at any time. Overpayments may help reduce the total interest charged and shorten the length of the agreement.

You will also receive the additional protections provided by the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

Representative example: Cash price £2,000. No deposit required. Total amount of credit £2,000. Interest rate 11.9% per annum fixed. Representative APR 11.9%. Agreement term 60 months. 60 monthly payments of £43.78. Total amount repayable £2,627.08.

Cash, Card or Bank Transfer

Solar Panel & Battery Installation FAQs

Savings depend on system size, roof orientation, shading, electricity prices and how much solar power you use in the home. A tailored proposal should include a generation estimate and clear assumptions rather than a guaranteed saving.

Solar panels can work without a battery, but storage can help you use more of the electricity generated during the day after the sun has gone down. The best choice depends on your usage pattern and budget.

Yes. Solar panels generate electricity from daylight rather than heat, although output is lower in dull weather and during shorter winter days than in bright summer conditions.

No. South-facing roofs often offer the highest annual yield, but east- and west-facing roofs can still produce useful energy. A survey will model your specific roof and shading conditions.

Most domestic rooftop installations are permitted development, but restrictions can apply to listed buildings, conservation areas, flat roofs and unusual locations. Planning responsibility should be confirmed before installation.

Many standard residential systems can be installed within one or two days once scaffolding and approvals are in place. Larger or more complex roofs and battery installations may require additional time.

Standard grid-connected solar systems normally shut down during a power cut for safety. Some compatible battery systems can provide backup power to selected circuits when designed and installed with the required equipment.

Solar panels have no moving parts and generally require limited maintenance. Monitoring can highlight performance issues, while occasional inspection and cleaning may be helpful where dirt, leaves or bird activity reduce output.

Manufacturers recommend servicing your panels every 12-24 months for maximal performance, and this can help further extend the lifespan of your panels.
